If you're a pro with lots of stage time or you just want to see if this comedy thing is as fun as it looks (HINT: It is!) we've got a curriculum designed to help everyone get the most out of the improv and stand up experience. Whether you want to learn to think quickly on your feet, meet some new friends, or get a regular performance slot on our stage, our classes are a great way to get involved in the Baton Rouge comedy community.

    Advanced Long Form. 301 is a prerequisite for this class. Students have tools in their toolboxes for long form, but this class adds POWER TOOLS to that toolbox.

    NOLA-based comedian and producer JQ Palms leads students in turning comedy bits into performance pieces. Participants are invited to a weekly open mic following class, and graduates will perform in a full showcase at Boomerang! Individualized coaching that WILL move the needle!

    This is the foundational course for our improv curriculum. It covers improv concepts and introduces students to performance games. Graduates are eligible to move on to 201 (Mechanics & Scene Work) potentially invited to join a regularly-performing short-form house team upon completion of this class.

    This six-week class is the second class in our curriculum and it focuses on mechanics and scene work in preparation for our Intro to Long Form class. Successful completion of 101 is required, and this class is a requirement for 301.
  • SKIT-ISH LEVEL ONE: Sketch Writing
    SKIT-ISH LEVEL ONE: Sketch Writing

    The first class in our sketch curriculum is an 8-week writing class led by writer/director/performer Dr. Tony Medlin. The class culminates in a showcase of student sketches in a Boomerang production. It is a prerequisite for our Level Two Class.

We are VERY proud of our comprehensive curriculum! Our leveled improv classes allow you to polish your communication skills, build confidence, and prepare you to join a regularly performing improv team. Our stand up classes help you develop material, level up your stage presence, and learn the ins-and-outs of promoting your  shows and how to connect with other comedians and show producers. NOTE: After satisfactory competion of a class, all students have an opportunity to perform on our stage!

Shows are usually on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Weekday improv classes are 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Sunday stand up classes are 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Sunday stand up open mics are 5 - 6:30 p.m. (sign up 4:30-5 p.m.)
